dc.description.abstract	Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na českou menšinu žijící v USA, která je v současné době nejpočetnější a jistě i nejvýznamnější českou krajanskou menšinou v zahraničí. Práce se zabývá historickým pohledem na vývoj vystěhovalectví do USA od roku 1850 do současnosti, periodizuje toto období na jednotlivé etapy, které jsou charakteristické jak jiným důvodem emigrace, tak i jinou početní silou vystěhovalců. Dále je zde diskutována problematika změn počtu Čechů v USA a změny jejich rozmístění v jednotlivých státech USA. Zdůvodňuje se zde proč docházelo ke změnám rozmístění. Hlavním důvodem je přechod od zemědělsky zaměřených imigrantů k imigrantům hledajícím práci v sekundéru a nakonec k intelektuálněji laděné emigraci v letech po druhé světové válce. Nakonec se podrobněji zaměřuji na tři státy USA (Kalifornii, Illinois a Texas), které byly vybrány pro svou specifičnost v rámci českých menšin v USA a u kterých se práce věnuje podrobněji historii a současné situaci české menšiny zde a také současnému rozmístění Čechů v těchto státech. Také jsou zmíněny některé demografické a sociálně-kulturní charakteristiky české menšiny u tří vybraných států.	cs_CZ
dc.description.abstract	This thesis is focused on the Czech minority living in the U.S., which is currently the largest and certainly the most important Czech expatriate minority abroad. There is the historical view of the development of emigration to the U.S. from 1850 to present. The focus constitutes periods which are characterized as another reason for emigration as well as other numerical strength of emigrants. There is then discussed the issue of changes in the number of Czechs in the U.S. and changes in their distribution in various U.S. states. It explains why there are changes in the distribution. The main reason is the shift from agriculturally oriented migrants to immigrants seeking work in factories and finally more intellectual emigrants in the years after World War II. Furthermore, it is focused on three U.S. states (California, Illinois and Texas) which were chosen because of their specificity in relation to the Czech minority in the U.S. There is described in detail the history and current situation of the Czech minority and the current distribution of the Czechs in these states. Also it discusses some demographic and socio-cultural characteristics of the Czech minority in case of the three selected states.	en_US
