Regionální diferenciace úmrtnostních poměrů v Itálii: vymezení regionů a jejich srovnání

Abstract

Regional differentiation of mortality patterns in Italy: regions determination and their comparison Abstract Regional differentiation of mortality has been the subject of research in the past, but its discourse has tended not to take into account the geographical aspect of mortality and analysis at multiple levels of administrative units. In contrast, this thesis aims to use demographic, statistical and population geography analysis to reveal disparities that do not correspond to administrative regions. The results highlight these inequalities particularly in the mountainous areas of the Alps and Apennines, the Milan- Turin-Genoa industrial triangle and the Neapolitan agglomeration (Terra del Fuochi). The selected indicators used in the previous analysis have become the basis of a regionalisation exercise aimed at creating an ideal structure of 'mortality' regions to represent the mortality situation in Italy. The hierarchical clustering method is used for this purpose. This is partially achieved, whereupon the need to choose a different method of regionalisation is highlighted, which would lead to an improvement in the quality of the resulting distribution and consequently enable practical application. Regionální diferenciace úmrtnostních faktorů v Itálii: vymezení regionů a jejich srovnání Abstrakt Regionální diferenciace úmrtnosti byla v minulosti předmětem výzkumu, ale jeho diskurz neměl tendenci brát v potaz geografický aspekt úmrtnosti a analýzu na více úrovních administrativních jednotek. Narozdíl od toho tato práce má za cíl s pomocí analýzy demografické, statistické a geografie obyvatelstva odhalit disparity, které nekorespondují s administrativními regiony. Výsledky na tyto nerovnosti poukazují zejména v horských oblastech Alp a Apenin, industriálním trojúhelníku Milán- Turín-Janov a neapolské aglomeraci (Terra del Fuochi). Vybrané ukazatelé, použité v předchozí analýze, se staly základem regionalizace, jejíž cílem je vytvořit ideální strukturu "úmrtnostních" regionů, které by reprezentovaly úmrtnostní situaci v Itálii. Využita je k tomu metoda hierarchického shlukování. Tohoto je dosaženo částečně, načež je zdůrazněna potřeba volby jiné metody regionalizace, která by vedla ke zkvalitnění výsledného rozdělení a následného umožnění praktické aplikace. Nově navržené územní celky by tak za ideální situace mohly sloužit jako nový rámec pro efektivnější alokaci financí do zdravotnického systému Itálie.
