Řeka Labe na starých mapách Čech

Abstract

The thesis pursues two main objectives. The first aim is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the depiction of the Elbe River on old maps of Bohemia. The second goal is to create a publicly accessible web-based map application presenting the results of the analysis. A total of four historical maps will be analyzed: the Klaudyán map of Bohemia from 1518, the Criginger map of Bohemia from 1568, the Aretin map of Bohemia from 1690-1720, and the Vogt map of Bohemia from 1712. The theoretical part of the thesis first briefly introduces the aforementioned maps and describes selected characteristics such as scale, dimensions, and method of production. This section also presents the authors of the maps through short biographies and introduces the Elbe River, describing its basic hydrographic characteristics and geographical divisions. The next part of the thesis is dedicated to the description of the methods used for map analysis. It includes a detailed account of content, semiotic, and cartometric analyses, as well as their synthesis. The practical part focuses on the actual analyses of the maps using the described methods. Diplomová práce si klade dva hlavní cíle. Prvním cílem je provést komplexní analýzu zobrazení řeky Labe na starých mapách Čech. Druhým je vytvoření veřejně přístupné webové mapové aplikace prezentující dosažené výsledky analýzy. Analyzovány budou celkem čtyři staré mapy: Klaudyánova mapa Čech z roku 1518, Crigingerova mapa Čech z roku 1568, Aretinova mapa Čech z roku 1690-1720 a Vogtova mapa Čech z roku 1712. V teoretické části práce jsou nejdříve stručně představeny výše zmíněné mapy a popsány jejich vybrané charakteristiky jako je například měřítko, rozměr či způsob vyhotovení. Tato část práce seznamuje s autory map pomocí krátkých životopisů a dále představuje řeku Labe, u které jsou popsány základní hydrografické charakteristiky či její geografické členění. Další část práce se věnuje popisu metod analýz mapových podkladů. Vyskytuje se zde zevrubný popis obsahové, sémiotické a kartometrické analýzy mapy včetně její syntézy. Praktická část se věnuje samotným analýzám map s využitím popsaných metod. Řeka je analyzovaná z hlediska rozsahu a úplnosti zákresu, geometrické přesnosti zákresu a kartografického vyjádření, se zasazením do historického kontextu.
