Abstract

V posledních letech došlo k významnému nárůstu zájmu o využití psychedelik, včetně ibogainu, při léčbě závislostí a psychických poruch. Ibogain specificky nabízí unikátní potenciál pro zmírnění abstinenčních příznaků a snížení cravingu. Tato práce se zaměřuje na analýzu dostupných studií a výzkumů týkajících se ibogainu, jeho mechanismů účinku a potenciálních terapeutických aplikací. Diskutuje rovněž nežádoucí účinky a rizika spojená s jeho užíváním, včetně srdečních komplikací a nutnosti důkladného klinického dohledu. Závěrem zdůrazňuje potřebu důkladného a systematického výzkumu, mezinárodní spolupráce a vývoje bezpečných terapeutických protokolů, které by mohly umožnit širší využití ibogainu v léčbě závislostí a přispět k zlepšení kvality života pacientů. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in interest in the use of psychedelics, including ibogaine, for the treatment of addictions and mental disorders. Specifically, ibogaine offers a unique potential to alleviate withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings. This thesis focuses on analyzing available studies and research concerning ibogaine, its mechanisms of action, and its potential therapeutic applications. It also discusses the adverse effects and risks associated with its use, including cardiac complications and the need for thorough clinical supervision. The thesis concludes by emphasizing the need for comprehensive and systematic research, international collaboration, and the development of safe therapeutic protocols.
