Toxicita na sociálních sítích a její souvislost s mentální pohodou vysokoškolských studentů a studentek

Abstract

In this thesis, I focus on examining the association of toxic content on social media with mental well-being in university students. Social networks in the contemporary world represent a platform for communication, information sharing, and social relationship building, but they can also be an environment that spreads toxic behaviors such as cyberbullying, verbal aggression, and sexual harassment. In this thesis, I seek to elucidate how these types of interactions are related to the mental well-being of male and female college students. In the theoretical part of the thesis, I discuss the definition of mental well-being and the research on mental well-being in university students. There, I also mention the association of social networking and toxic content with mental well-being in university students, which I further focus on in terms of their definition and development. I then describe toxicity in the online environment and its types and then discuss mental well-being and previous studies that have examined the effects of toxic content on social networking sites on mental well-being. V této diplomové práci se zaměřuji na zkoumaní souvislosti toxického obsahu na sociálních sítích s mentální pohodou vysokoškoláků. Sociální sítě v soudobém světě reprezentují platformu pro komunikaci, sdílení informací a budovaní sociálních vztahů, avšak zároveň mohou být prostředím šířícím toxické chování, jako je kyberšikana, verbální agrese nebo sexuální obtěžování. V práci se snažím objasnit, jakou souvislost má tento typ interakcí na mentální pohodu vysokoškolských studentů a studentek. V teoretické části práce jsem se věnovala definici mentální pohody a výzkumům, zabývajícími se mentální pohodou u vysokoškolských studentů a studentek. Zmiňuji tam také souvislost sociálních sítí a toxického obsahu s mentální pohodou vysokoškolských studentů, na které se dále se zaměřuji z hlediska jejich definice a vývoje. Poté popisuji toxicitu v online prostředí a její druhy a následně se věnuji mentální pohodě a dosavadním studiím, které zkoumaly důsledky vlivu toxického obsahu na sociálních sítích na mentální pohodu. Poté jsou v metodologické části popsány výzkumné otázky a hypotézy a je představeno dotazníkové šetření na vzorku 456 vysokoškolských studentů a studentek, které se zabývá jejich zkušenostmi s toxickým obsahem a jeho dopadem na jejich mentální pohodu.
