Komentovaný překlad tří raných povídek od Kazua Ishigura s úvodní studií o autorovi, jeho stylu a problémech překladu

Abstract

Diplomová práce je rozdělena na dvě části. Praktickou část tvoří překlady celkem tří povídek A Strange and Sometimes Sadness, Waiting for J a Getting Poisoned od britského autora japonského původu Kazua Ishigura. Na překlad navazuje studie o autorovi, jeho životě a stylu psaní. Práce se dále věnuje Ishigurovi v kontextu mezinárodní literatury a translatologie. Následují literární rozbory povídek a analýza překladatelských problémů, mezi které patří např. idiolekty jednotlivých vypravěčů a japonské reálie.

The thesis consists of two parts. The first presents translations of three short stories A Strange and Sometimes Sadness, Waiting for J and Getting Poisoned written by Kazuo Ishiguro, a Japanese-born British author. The translations are followed by a study about the author, his life, writing style, including Ishiguro's role in the context of international literature and translatology. The thesis also focuses on the literary analysis and translation problems, e. g. the idiolects of the three narrators and the specifics of Japanese culture.
