Kde konec nezná konce: Analýza smrti v absurdním dramatu

Abstract

Bakalářská práce - Abstrakt v českém jazyce Tato bakalářská práce si klade za cíl provést detailní analýzu způsobu, jakým pět významných autorů žánru absurdního dramatu pracuje s motivem smrti, se snahou určit, jak se tento motiv v rámci jejich děl projevuje a do jaké míry pomáhá spoluurčovat ostatní rysy jejich dramatické tvorby. Záměrně byli voleni spisovatelé píšící v 50. a 60. letech 20. století v odlišných politických a společenských podmínkách, s premisou, že by se nám tak mohl naskytnout pohled na několik značně rozdílných přístupů. První kapitola se zaměřuje na definici žánru absurdního dramatu z hlediska historického, společenského i uměleckého kontextu, přičemž čerpá zejména z knihy Theatre of the absurd britského spisovatele Martina Esslina, její části Podstata, tradice a smysl absurdního dramatu přeložené do češtiny Liborem Štukavcem a ze dvou zahraničních studií obecně pojednávajících o problematice smrti v absurdním dramatu. Druhá kapitola krátce pojednává o přístupu ke smrti u nejvýznamnějších autorů existencialismu, filozofického směru s žánrem absurdního dramatu úzce souvisejícího. Bachelor thesis - Abstract in the English language This bachelor's thesis aims to conduct a detailed analysis of how five significant authors of the "theater of the absurd" genre deal with the theme of death, with the goal of determining how this theme manifests in their works and to what extent it helps to shape other features of their dramatic writing. The authors, who wrote in the 1950s and 1960s under different political and social conditions, were chosen deliberately, with the premise that this could offer insight into several different approaches. The first chapter focuses on defining the genre of the theatre of the absurd in terms of historical, social, and cultural context, drawing primarily from the book Theatre of the Absurd by British writer Martin Esslin, from its section Podstata, tradice a smysl absurdního dramatu, translated into Czech by Libor Štukavec, as well as from two international studies generally addressing the issue of death in the theatre of the absurd. The second chapter briefly discusses the approach to death by the most important authors of existentialism, a philosophical movement closely related to the genre of the theatre of the absurd.
