| uk.abstract.cs | Článek se zabývá dvěma předními pražskými kulturně-politickými časopisy před první světovou válkou - Přehledem (1902-1914) a Deutsche Arbeit (1901-39). Studie konkrétně analyzuje jejich představy a požadavky týkající se centra a periferie na základě studia jejich redakčního a vydavatelského zázemí, jakož i programových esejů, recenzí a polemik. Přehled na jedné straně posiloval integrační snahy česky mluvící inteligence a usiloval o propojení lokálních elit v Čechách a na Moravě s pražským centrem. Na druhé straně se Deutsche Arbeit snažila politicky a kulturně propojit německy mluvící oblasti Čech s hlavním městem země, což se setkalo s malým úspěchem. Od konce roku 1912 se však jako protiváha českým snahám prosazovala myšlenka kulturní a hospodářské integrace s Německou říší. To bylo doprovázeno snahou o co nejužší politickou orientaci na silnou sousední zemi, která za války vyvrcholila Naumannovým projektem Mitteleuropa. | cs |
| uk.abstract.en | The paper explores two leading Prague‑based cultural and political magazines prior to World War I – Přehled (1902–1914) and Deutsche Arbeit (1901–39). Specifically, the study analyses their ideas and demands concerning the centre and periphery by studying their editorial and publishing backgrounds, as well as programme essays, reviews and polemics. Přehled, on the one hand, reinforced the integrationist efforts of the Czechspeaking intelligentsia, seeking to link local elites in Bohemia and Moravia with the Prague centre. On the other hand, Deutsche Arbeit tried to link the German‑ speaking areas of Bohemia politically and culturally with the country capital, which was met with little success. However, from the end of 1912, the idea of cultural and economic integration with the German Empire was promoted as a counterbalance to the Czech efforts. This was accompanied with attempts to foster the closest possible political orientation towards a strong neighbouring country, culminating in Naumann’s Mitteleuropa project during the war. | cs |
