Problematika překladu zastaralých slov v literárních dílech Victora Huga a Émila Zoly

Abstract

Tato práce se zabývá překladem časově příznakových jazykových prostředků v dílech Victora Huga a Émila Zoly a jejich užití českém literárním překladu obecně. Definuje pojem "zastaralá slova" a sleduje jejich výskyt ve francouzské a české literatuře vybraných obdobích. Stručně charakterizuje český a francouzský romantismus popisuje Hugův a Zolův autorský styl. Představuje translatologické teorie zabývající se překladem starších děl, zastaralých slov a zastaráváním překladu. Analyzuje nejnovější české překlady jmenovaných autorů a na základě zjištěných údajů formuluje hypotézu o současném přístupu k překladu archaismů a historismů v dílech těchto autorů. The subject of this thesis is the translation of diachronically marked expressions in the works of Victor Hugo and Émile Zola and their use in Czech literary translation in general. This paper gives a definition of "obsolete words" and it follows their usage in Czech and French literature at different times. It summarizes Czech and French Romanticism and Naturalism and it describes the individual styles of Hugo and Zola. It presents several translation theories concerning the translation of old literature, obsolete words and the ageing of translation. It analyses the most recent Czech translations of the two authors, and based on our findings, it formulates a hypothesis about the current approach to translation of archaisms and "historisms" in the works of these authors.
