2019The evolution of the Boyne River valley (Ireland) was influenced by morphostructural conditions and glacial processes. The deranged drainage system of the upper Boyne River is an example of a glacially modified watershed. The lower Boyne valley was also influenced by a diverse bedrock and retrograde erosion caused by a glacio-isostatic uplift of Ireland during the late Quaternary. The combination of geomorphic signs of the glacio-isostatic uplift and climate changes has produced the development of six accumulation river terraces.
