Střední chyba ve všech směrech =Mean error in all directions

Abstract

Křivka střední chyby v rovině nebo plocha střední chyby v prostoru podávají úplný popis střední chyby určovaného bodu nejenom ve směru os souřadnic, ale ve všech směrech. Kovarianční matice souřadnic určovaného bodu má na hlavní diagonále rozptyly ve směru os souřadnic. Otočíme-li ale soustavu souřadnic o libovolný orientovaný úhel, dostaneme jiný rozptyl. Souhrn bodů coby koncových bodů úseček, kde délka každé úsečky se rovná druhé odmocnině z rozptylu ve směru orientovaného úhlu, tvoří v rovině křivku střední chyby (Helmertova křivka) a v prostoru plochu střední chyby. Jejich rovnice jsou uvedeny v polárních a pravoúhlých souřadnicích

The mean error curve in the plane or the mean error surface in the space describe in total the mean errors of the determined point not only in the coordinate axes' direction, but in all directions as well. The covariation coordinates' matrix of the determined point depicts the error variance in the coordinate axes' directions. In case of rotation of the coordinate system by any oriented angle, the error variation differs. The points' assignment in forma of vector endpoints, supposing that each vector length equals the square root of error variation in the orientated angle direction, creates the mean error curve in the plane (Helmert's curve), and mean error surface in the space. Their equations are presented both in polar and rectangular coordinates
