dc.description.abstract | Geographical differences in the occurrence of cancer can be figured out. Cancer of particular organs shows a different frequency in occurrence in various regions. The analysis was performed without the differentiation of sex which distorts to a certain degree the achieved results because the cancer mortality differs with males and females. The reason lies in the fact that the mortality in dependence on the cause of death in the Czech Socialistic Republic has not been distinguished according to sex. In the fifties stomach cancer was on the first place in cancer death rates of mates and females, but later the death rates from lung cancer with males has come to the foreground whereas the death rates from stomach cancer with females has remained nearly at the same level (even slightly decreased) and the mortality from breast cancer has increased. From the geographical comparison of the display of the standardized indexes of death rates, a rather homogenous display is evident in the whole investigated territory | cs |
