dc.description.abstract	Der transkulturelle Charakter von der Jazzmusik mit ihrem Anspruch auf moderne, von gesellschaftlichen Konventionen befreite Lebensweise findet in den ersten Jahrzehnten des 20. Jahrhunderts in den europäischen Städten eine besondere Resonanz. Die enorme Wirkung dieser Musik und ihre Popularität in Europa bestand in einem günstigen kulturhistorischen Moment, in dem afroamerikanische und europäische musikalische Traditionen und ästhetische Praktiken einhergingen. Vor dem Hintergrund der Prager Tanzszene werden einerseits die Bezüge auf den frühen Jazz im tschechischen Poetismus, andererseits in den frühen Texten Franz Kafkas aufgezeigt und in zeitgenössischen ästhetischen Diskursen kontextualisiert.	de
dc.description.abstract	The transcultural character of jazz music with its claim to a modern way of life liberated from social conventions was particularly well received in European cities in the first decades of the 20th century. The special impact and popularity of this music in Europe derived from a favorable cultural -historical moment of meeting both African American and European musical traditions and aesthetic practices. Against the backdrop of the Prague dance scene, references to early jazz are contextualized in contemporary aesthetic discourses with regard to the Czech poetism on the one hand, and to Franz Kafka’s early texts on the other.	en
