Czechoslovakia, first republic, Communist Party, political cultureThis article deals with the political culture of the interwar Czechoslovak Communist Party. The issue is studied through the prism of the protagonistsʼ life experience and practice. Attention is focused on three subject areas (1. the significance of the Communist organization; 2. the use of Marxist-Leninist ideology; 3. the public/private division in personal life) and on how these were reflected in the behaviour of both prominent and less prominent party members.
