Tomáš Kulka, Ph.D. Tématem disertační práce je debata o povaze estetických pojmů (výroků či soudů . Hlavní pozornost je věnována dvěma milníkům této debaty, článkům "Estetické pojmy" Franka N. Sibleyho a "Kategori umění" Kendalla L. Waltona. Sibleyho analýza estetického užívání jazyka interpretována jako původní formulace tradičního estetického problému antinomie vkusu (nárok estetických soudů na ospravedlnění jasných kritérií). Pozdější vývoj debaty ovšem vykazuje tendenci k ho vhledu, a to dvěma způsoby: buď jsou hledána pravidla, kterými se estetický soud říd anebo je redukován na pouhé sdělení osobních preferencí bez nároku na obecnou platnost. Kognitivismus Kendalla Waltona zahajující novou etapu debaty na začátku o první skupiny. Odklon od původních výsledků Sibleyho analýzy je interpretován jako přetrvávající vliv logického pozitivismu na analytickou estetiku.
