Abstract

Nikola Tesla - Génius, který změnil svět Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o životě a díle srbského vynálezce Nikoly Tesly a věnuje se především létům, která strávil v Americe. V kontextu doby je vyzdvižen význam jeho vynálezů, z nichž některé výrazně ovlivnily technologii dnešního světa. Největší prostor v práci zaujímají dva Teslovy celoživotní spory, které ovlivnily jak jeho kariéru, tak osobní život. První z nich, takzvaná "válka o proudy", probíhal mezi Teslou a Edisonem. Druhý vedl Tesla s Marconim, když se spolu soudili o vynález rádia. Vývoj obou sporů je popsán po historické, ekonomické i technologické stránce, kdy je kladen důraz především na následky pro dnešní dobu. V závěru práce jsou představeny některé další Teslovy méně známé vynálezy a různá uznání, která za svůj přínos vědě získal.

Nikola Tesla - Genius who changed the world This bachelor thesis tells the story of life and work of Serbian inventor Nikola Tesla and it's mainly dedicated to years, which he spent in America. In the context of that time it highlights the importance of his inventions, some of which have significantly affected today's technology. The largest part of the work, occupy two Tesla's long life disputes which affected his career and personal life. The first one of these, "war of currents", was between Tesla and Edison. The second one between Tesla and Marconi passed because of invention of radio. The development of both disputes is described from the historical, economical and technological side, which focuses on the consequences for today's world. At the end of the text, there is a brief presentation of lesser-known Tesla's inventions and various recognitions which he received for his contribution to science.
