Roman Army, military equipment, sword, scabbard fittings, Roman MythologyPráce se zaměřuje na srovnání archeologického a ikonografického materiálu, který se týká militárií období raného a středního principátu. Cílem práce je posouzení římských militárií, pocházejících především z limitních kontextů a ikonografické stránky náhrobních stél případně dalších reliéfů z daného období. Na základě této analýzy se práce zaměřila především na typologii ozdobného kování pochev, např. ochranné prvky (zobrazení bohů a héroů, apotropaický význam), dále práce zhodnocuje propagandistické motivy např. v podobě portrétu císaře a jeho triumfu.
This thesis deals with comparison of archaeological and iconographical material, which is releated with military equipment from early and middle Principate. Goal of this work is assessment of Roman military equipment, which is mostly upcoming from limes and iconographical side of gravestones or other reliefs from that period. Based on this analysis the work is primary focused on typology of decorative fittings of scabbards, for example protective features (display of gods and heroes, apotropaic point), further work appraise propaganda motives for example in the form of a portrait of emperor and his triumph.
