Abstract

Author: Bc. Monika Kopecká Title: Body perception in amputees with phantom limb pain and possibilities of influencing phantom limb pain from the physiotherapist's perspective. Objectives: The aim of this thesis was to investigate whether amputees with phantom limb pain will have a different body image and perception of their own body compared to amputees who do not suffer from phantom limb pain and to describe the possibilities of influencing phantom limb pain. Methods: The theoretical part follows the given issue on the basis of a search of current knowledge of both Czech and mainly foreign literature. For the practical part, the questionnaire The Amputee Body Image Scale was used to assess the subjective perception of the own body in amputees, which was translated into Czech and supplemented with an introductory section focused on questions about amputation, prosthesis and phantom pain. Distribution of the questionnaire was carried out on-line by sharing the link and in cooperation with the Prosthetic Centre in České Budějovice. Results: The questionnaire survey showed that phantom limb pain sufferers have a worse perception of their own body compared to non-phantom limb pain sufferers. Cíl: Cílem této diplomové práce bylo zjistit, zda bude u osob po amputaci s fantomovými bolestmi jiný obraz vnímání vlastního těla ve srovnání s osobami po amputaci, které fantomovými bolestmi netrpí a popsat možnosti ovlivnění fantomových bolestí. Metody: Teoretická část sleduje danou problematiku na základě rešerše aktuálních poznatků jak české, tak především zahraniční literatury. Pro praktickou část byl použit dotazník The Amputee Body Image Scale sloužící k subjektivnímu hodnocení vnímání vlastního těla u osob po amputaci, který byl přeložen do českého jazyka a doplněn o úvodní část zaměřenou na otázky ohledně amputace, protézy a fantomových bolestí. Distribuce dotazníku byla provedena on-line metodou - sdílením odkazu a ve spolupráci s protetickým centrem v Českých Budějovicích. Výsledky: Dotazníkové šetření ukázalo, že u osob s fantomovými bolestmi je zhoršené vnímání vlastního těla ve srovnání s osobami, které fantomovými bolestmi netrpí.
