Tato diplomová práce se zabývá komentovaným překladem úvodních kapitol anglického románu The Collector Collector britského spisovatele Tibora Fischera do češtiny. Sestává se ze dvou částí: překladu a komentáře. Komentář obsahuje analýzu výchozího textu a rozbor překladatelských řešení, to vše s pomocí publikací Christiane Nordové (Text Analysis in Translation. Theory, Methodology, and Didactic Application of a Model for Translation- Oriented Text Analysis), Marie Čechové a kol. (Současná stylistika češtiny), Petera Newmarka (A Textbook of Translation) a Jiřího Levého (Umění překladu). The following thesis is an annotated translation of selected chapters from the British novel The Collector Collector written by Tibor Fischer. It consists of two parts: translation and annotation. The annotation analyses the source text and later describes the translation methods and shifts that occurred during the translation process, using the literature written by Christiane Nord (Text Analysis in Translation. Theory, Methodology, and Didactic Application of a Model for Translation-Oriented Text Analysis), Marie Čechová et al. (Současná stylistika češtiny), Peter Newmark (A Textbook of Translation), and Jiří Levý (Umění překladu).
