Stolpersteine aneb kameny, o které je třeba klopýtnout

Abstract

Cílem této diplomové práce je přiblížit čtenáři umělecko-historický projekt Stolpersteine. Jeho autorem je Němec Gunter Demnig, který s myšlenkou uctít památku obětí holokaustu poprvé vystoupil v roce 1992. Smyslem projektu je připomenout oběti druhé světové války a nacistického režimu, a to nejen Židy, ale například i Romy, homosexuály či svědky Jehovovy. Stolpersteine mají podobu dlažebních kostek s mosazným povrchem, které jsou zpravidla vsazeny do chodníku před posledním známým dobrovolným bydlištěm oběti. Projekt Stolpersteine si brzy po svém představení získal pozornost odborníků i široké veřejnosti po celé Evropě. V České republice byl první pamětní kámen položen v roce 2008 v Praze, následně v Kolíně a každý rok na různých místech země přibývají další. Pokládání nových kamenů není triviální záležitostí a legislativní proces, který začíná podáním žádosti a končí vydáním rozhodnutí, zahrnuje celou řadu úkonů. Smyslem Stolpersteine je přimět dnešní mladou generaci k reflexi událostí, které její představitelé sice již nezažili, ale jejichž odkaz nadále formuje politické a společenské dění nejen v Německu, ale i v dalších evropských zemích včetně České republiky. The aim of this diploma thesis is to introduce the reader to the art-historical project Stolpersteine. Its author is the German Gunter Demnig, who first came up with the idea to honor the memory of Holocaust victims in 1992. The purpose of the project is to commemorate the victims of World War II and the Nazi regime, not only Jews but also Roma, homosexuals and Jehovah's Witnesses. Stolpersteine are in the form of paving stones with a brass surface, which are usually inserted into the sidewalk before the last known voluntary residence of the victim. The Stolpersteine project soon attracted the attention of experts and the general public throughout Europe. In the Czech Republic, the first memorial stone was laid in 2008 in Prague, then in Mikulov, and more are added to various parts of the country every year. Laying new stones is not a trivial matter and the legislative process, which begins with an application and ends with the issuance of a decision, involves a number of steps.
