Ferdinand I (1503–1564), Arnold von Bruck (1500–1554) festivities, musical culture, Prague, Staatsmotette, Adrian Willaert (ca 1490–1562)This article considers the role of music during the two most elaborate Prague festivities during the reign of Ferdinand I, in 1527 and 1558. Using extant narrative and musical sources, it tries to identify particular monophonic and polyphonic compositions that were performed.
