Funerální umění na vybraných pražských hřbitovech 1850-1950

Abstract

of the disertation thesis Vladislava Holzapfelová Funeral art in cemeteries in Prague 1850-1950 The thesis deals with the funeral art found in selected cemeteries in Prague during the period 1850-1950. It tries to show the progress of this branch of art from the historicist styles up to the sorela art. It describes the types of tomb stones, trends in art and activities of sculptors and architects who attended to the sepulcral orders. Beside those artists, there were also successful stonecutter workshops, whose production is found in high numbers in Prague's necropolises. The thesis also tries to explain the changes in reflection of the death in the society which came in this certain period like for example cremation or disinclining from the religion. Some chapters are also attended to the symbolical decoration of the graves or other sepulcral topics like funeral notices or titles on tomb stones. disertační práce Vladislava Holzapfelová Funerální umění na vybraných pražských hřbitovech 1850-1950 Anotace Práce se zabývá funerálním uměním na území Prahy v letech 1850-1950. Snaží se vystihnout vývoj tohoto odvětví umění počínaje historizujícími směry až po socialistický realismus. Popisuje typy náhrobků, umělecké trendy a tvorbu sochařů a architektů, kteří se často věnovali sepulkrálním zakázkám. Vedle nich však na poli náhrobní tvorby působily také dosud málo známé kamenické provozy, jejichž produkce je na pražských nekropolích významně zastoupena. Dále se práce snaží postihnout změny ve vnímání smrti společností, které nastaly v daném období, a patří mezi ně například zavedení kremace či postupné odvracení se od náboženství. Práce se zabývá také symbolickou výzdobou náhrobků a dotkne se též dalších témat souvisejících s posledními věcmi člověka, jakými jsou například smuteční oznámení či nápisy na náhrobcích.
