Teoretická část je zaměřena především na historický vývoj smrti a umírání, na eutanazii, paliativní péči a důstojnost umírajících. V empirické části bylo užito kvantitativního výzkumu, tedy anonymního dotazníkového šetření. Po analýze výsledků byly zjištěny představy všeobecných sester o dobré smrti. Z výsledků je patrné, že větší část oslovených respondentů by byla pro uzákonění eutanazie, ale velká část oslovených respondentů nezná model dříve vysloveného přání, který platná legislativa nabízí jako alternativu eutanazie. Tato bakalářská práce by měla vést k dalšímu zamyšlení nad danou problematikou.

Theoretical part describes mainly historical evolution of death and dying, euthanasia, palliative care and dignity of dying person. Empiric chapter uses quantitative research in form of anonymous questionnaire. Perspectives of nurses on good death were found by analysis of questionnaires. Results showed that most of the respondents would agree with legalization of euthanasia. On the other hand many respondents are not familiar with institution of DNR offered by Czech legislative as alternative to euthanasia. This thesis should lead to further reflection of the given issue.
