Mediální ohlas Škvoreckého Zbabělců v 50. a 60. letech 20. století

Abstract

Bakalářská práce se zabývá analytickým zhodnocením kritických reakcí na vydání Škvoreckého románu Zbabělci v 50. a 60. letech 20. století. Obě desetiletí byly specifické svou politicko-společenskou atmosférou. Charakteristika 50. i 60. let se tedy liší a specifika obou desetiletích se pak odráží v kritických rekcích. Autorka se v první části práce soustředí na vytvoření teoretického rámce, který poté slouží jako východisko při analýze recenzí. V prvních třech kapitolách práce přibližuje život Josefa Škvoreckého (a jak jej ovlivnilo vydání jeho románové prvotiny), dále na postavení románu v kontextu české poválečné prózy a na události, které provázely jednotlivá vydání Zbabělců. Při analýze kritik reagujících na Zbabělce je důležitý především dobový politický kontext a s ním i měnící se hodnoty, jež společnost uznávala. Na jejich platformě pak vznikaly texty, které Zbabělce jednou odsuzovaly, podruhé uznaly jako moderní a kvalitní dílo. V závěru práce autorka analyzuje recenze a s ohledem na zjištěné poznatky pak uzavírá mediální analýzu závěrečným komentářem.

The bachelor thesis deals with the analytical evaluation of the critical reaction to Skvorecky's novel The Cowards in the 50s and 60s of the 20th century. These two decades have been specific by its political and social atmosphere. Characteristics of the 50s and 60s are different and therefore different specificities of the two decades are reflected in the critical reactions. In the first part the author focuses on the creation of a theoretical framework, which is then used as the basis for the analysis of reviews. In the first three chapters of the work she focuses on a biography of Josef Skvorecky (and how it was affected by edition of his debut novel), as well as the status of the novel in the context of Czech post-war literature. The important element in the analysis of reviews of The Cowards is primarily the context of the historical period and with it the changing societal values. Texts created on this basis have at one time denounced The Cowards and other time praised it as a modern and quality work. At the end, the author summarizes the facts affecting the formation and character of reviews. In light of the lessons learned then closes media analysis with a commentary.
