Portrét Alexandra Velikého v helénistickém umění

Abstract

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá portréty Alexandra Velikého v řeckém umění helénistického období. Je zaměřena na obecnou charakteristiku, na popis a interpretaci jednotlivých portrétů, zejména v plastice, ale také na mincích, gemách, na nástěnných malbách a mozaikách. Práce rovněž zohledňuje antické literární prameny, které nám poskytují informace o Alexandrově vzhledu a o některých vyobrazeních, z nichž se většina nedochovala. Dále se srovnávají portréty vytvořené za Alexandrova života s těmi, jež byly zhotoveny teprve po jeho smrti. This Bachelor thesis deals with the portraits of Alexander the Great in Greek art of the Hellenistic age. It is focused on the general characteristic and on the description, the interpretation of individual portraits, especially, in sculpture, but also on coins, gems, in wall paintings and mosaics. This thesis also takes account of ancient literary sources. They inform us of Alexander's appearance and of some images, most of which has not been preserved. Furthermore, the portraits which were created during Alexander's lifetime are compared with those, which were created only after his death. Finally, there are the changes in the images of Alexander due to his aging examined. Keywords portrait, Alexander the Great, Hellenistic Art, Macedon
