Autor ve své dizertační práci navrhl primery a optimalizoval podmínky provedení kvantitativní PCR pro stanovení exprese genů MMP-7, TIMP-1, MMP-2 a TIMP-2. Prokázal přítomnost exprese genů GAPDH, TIMP-1 a TIMP-2 u nádorových linii HT-29, SW480 a SW620. Zaznamenal vysokou hladinu exprese MMP-7 u linie HT-29. Exprese je o 2-3 řády vyšší než u linií SW480 a SW620. Expresi mRNA MMP-2 u linie HT-29 nezaznamenal. Expresi mRNA MMP-2 detekoval u linií SW480 a SW620. Zjistil, že stanovení exprese absolutně a relativně je u nádorových linií ekvivalentní.Prokázal signifikantně vyšší expresi mRNA MMP-7, TIMP-1, MMP-2 a TIMP-2 v nádorové tkáni oproti normální tkáni.
