Komentovaný překlad: Spiegel Special, Der Kalte Krieg (č.3/2008), kapitola Die Spaltung der Welt, článek Am Abgrund (str. 7-18)

Abstract

Práce je rozdělena na překlad textu originálu a odborný komentář k překladu. Překládaný text je článek "Am Abgrund" (Nad propastí) ze speciálního vydání německého týdeníku DER SPIEGEL - Geschichte s názvem "Kalter Krieg" (Studená válka). Samotný text chronologicky popisuje historické mezníky v době studené války a je doplněn dobovými citáty politiků a moderními úvahami a hypotézami historiků. Hlavní myšlenkou článku jsou, jak samotný název napovídá, okamžiky, kdy se lidstvo ocitlo nad propastí jaderné války. Odborný komentář se podrobně zabývá čtyřmi okruhy, a to překladatelskou analýzou, překladatelskými metodami, typologií překladatelských problémů a výrazovými posuny. Cílem komentáře je seznámit čtenáře s translatologickými postupy, metodami, reflektovat překladatelské problémové pasáže a na základě teoretických poznatků dojít ke schůdnému překladatelskému řešení.

This Bachelor thesis is divided into a translation of an original text and a professional commentary on the translation. The translated text is an article "Am Abgrund" (On the edge of a precipice) from a special issue of the German weekly DER SPIEGEL - Geschichte called "Kalter Krieg" (Cold war). The text itself depicts chronologically historical landmarks during the cold war and it is added with political quotes of that time and modern analyses and hypotheses by historians. As the name of the article suggests, the main thought of the article are moments when the mankind was caught on the edge of a precipice of a nuclear war. The professional commentary deals with four spheres, namely translation analysis, tranlsation methods, typology of translation problems and exprassional shifts in translation. The goal of the commentary is to acquaint readers with translatological procedures and methods,to reflect problematic passages in the text and, on the basis of theoretical knowledge, to reach a feasible solution of translation.
