Abstract

Cílem této bakalářské práce je vypracovat překlad a následně komentář k tomuto překladu, který se zaměří na překladatelskou analýzu originálu, metodu překladu, typologii překladatelských problémů a překladatelských posunů. Překládaný text pochází z knihy Women in Ireland: A century change od autorky Myrtle Hill. Kniha pojednává o roli irských žen v důležitých událostech, které se v Irsku odehrály v průběhu dvacátého století. Přináší také zajímavé informace o každodenním životě žen. Kniha obsahuje velké množství irských reálií a také citací, z nichž některé pocházejí z textů asi sto let starých. Převod reálii a citací bude jedním z hlavních překladatelských problémů.

This bachelor's thesis consists of a translation and a commentary covering four points: translation analysis of the original, translation method, typology of translation problems and shifts. The translated text is a part of a book Women in Ireland: A century change written by Myrtle Hill. The book gives an account of the involvement of Irish women in important events which took place in Ireland in the 20th century. It also brings interesting information about their everyday life at that time. It contains much information about Irish culture and politics of that time and many citations from texts which are about hundred years old. The translation of the citations and the culture- bound facts will be a major challenge.
