Abstract

Zrod a proměny figury antikrista v raném judaismu The Birth and Existence ofthe Antichrist Figure in Early Judaism Kamil Lepš The main topic of the study is the antichrist. By the means of a hermeneutic approach the study enables a detailed look into the antichrist figure. The topic was analyzed and studied in Jewish religious and historical sources, which originate from the period between the Old Testament and the Talmud, with an occasional overlap to the early medieval midrashes. Texts from the New Testament noting the Christian adaptation ofthe Jewish eschatology were also carefully studied as well. The study did not subject the studied texts to text criticism but concentrated solely on text interpretation. In accordance with the study methodology applied by renowned hermeneutic Jacques Waardenburg, the emergence of the antichrist is described in the social, cultural and religious context. AIso the intluence of the most important historical event s linked to the emergence ofthe antichrist was studied in detail. With regard to the importance of the beginning of the antichrist figure, the biggest part ofthe study concentrates on the period ofthe Old Testament. Tato postava byla vždy zahalena závojem tajemna, za který toužil každý, kdo se s ní setkal, alespoň trochu nahlédnout. Zájem o antikrista není pouhou fascinací zlem. Zlo samo, jako princip nebo jeho nadpozemský představitel satan, nemůže probouzet lidskou fantazii nikdy tak silně, jako antikrist. Na rozdíl od antikrista je princip zla příliš obecným a spíše filozofickým pojmem. Satan je vnímán jako vzdálený mythém. Přestože je satan postava a ne princip, je kvůli své nadpozemskosti pro mysl moderního člověka těžko uchopitelný. Satan nemá nad imaginací lidí tak velkou moc jako antikrist, neboť jeho podoba je jen obtížně představitelná. Nemá žádný společný znak s předměty či osobami pobývajícími v přítomném světě. Oproti tomu má v sobě antikrist ten nejdůležitější atribut, který ho činí tak přístupným lidské obrazotvornosti. Je to atribut lidství. Antikrist byl vždy zobrazován a popisován jako člověk. Důvod fascinace touto postavou je právě ta snadná představitelnost a možnost, že právě teď žije mezi námi člověk, který je zosobněním všeho zla.
