Identita českých neslyšících Romů

Abstract

Díky současnému pohledu na Neslyšící jako kulturní a jazykovou menšinu je možné zkoumat kulturní identitu Neslyšících. Zároveň s tím se otevírá otázka, jakou identitu nabývají sluchově postižení příslušníci etnických menšin. Ztotožňují se spíše s Neslyšícími nebo s danou etnickou minoritou? Tato práce se zabývá kulturní identitou neslyšících Romů žijících v České republice. Práce je postavena na předpokladu, že lidská identita je kontinuální proces probíhající v závislosti na interakci jedince a společnosti a může mít více různých stupňů, které se vzájemně odlišují. V rámci výzkumu byla zjišťovány životní zkušenosti, postoje a názory neslyšících Romů a na základě jejich rozboru byl zkoumán proces vývoje identity těchto osob a faktory, které ho ovlivnily. Součástí práce je přehled pohledů na kulturu a komunitu Neslyšících stejně jako souhrn dosavadních výzkumů identity neslyšících příslušníků etnických menšin.

With the definition of Deaf people as a cultural and linguistic minority the research of Deaf identity became possible. Following this, questions of identity of minority deaf persons emerged. Do these persons affiliate to the Deaf community or to their ethnic minority? This bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of Czech deaf Roma identity. The underlying assumption of the paper is that identity is a continuing process dependent on the interaction of an individual and society and that it constitutes of various levels different form each other. The research the thesis is based on aimed to collect data about experience, opinions and attitudes of deaf Roma. In analyzing the collected data, the process of identity development in these individuals was explored. Deaf community and Deaf culture is described from different perspectives and the results of present research of deaf minority members is summarized in this thesis.
