Umělec jako genderový koncept: genderové stereotypy v estetice

Abstract

Diplomová práce Umělec jako genderový koncept: genderové stereotypy v estetice se zabývá problémem přítomnosti genderových stereotypů v estetických teoriích a pojmech, se kterými estetika běžně pracuje. Gender, tedy sociální konstrukce pohlaví, silně ovlivnil teorie o umění, umělecké tvorbě a umělci. Konotace maskulinity a femininity přítomné v estetických teoriích a pojmech však vycházejí ze stereotypů: příkladem takového stereotypu je mýtus, že muž je "creative", umělecky kreativní a osvobozený od biologického údělu; žena je "procreative", tedy "plodná", ovšem jen v biologickém smyslu. Nejen tento stereotyp pak způsobuje, že umění a umělec jsou dosud vnímány spíše jako maskulinní záležitosti. Proto je potřebné reflektovat estetiku z feministického pohledu a napomáhat odstraňovat bariéry, které jsou v umění a v estetických teoriích díky přenášení stereotypů stále patrné.

The Thesis Artist as a Gender Related Issue: Gender Stereotypes in Aesthetics considers the problem of gender stereotypes included in aesthetic theories and concepts which are often used in Aesthetics. Gender (as a social construct of sex) functions as a deep factor in all theories of art, art production and artist. The problematic connotations of masculinity and femininity aren't based on the facts but on stereotypes; significant is the example of the myth that man is "creative", woman is "procreative". All of these gender related stereotypes lead to the fact that art and artist are usually seen as a male domain. That is why a reflection of Aesthetics from the feminist point of view is needed, to help to destroy the barriers that still remain in art and aesthetic theories.
