Transcendence v umění abstrakce

Abstract

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem transcendence v abstraktním umění 20. století z hlediska teologie a estetické filosofie. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována paralelám mezi výtvarným jazykem abstrakce a teologickými pojmy, jako jsou řád, světlo, prázdnota a negace. Prostřednictvím interpretace vybraných autorů (např. Augustin, Dionýsios Areopagita, Mistr Eckhart) a umělců (V. Kandinskij, K. Malevič, M. Rothko, V. Boštík) práce ukazuje, jak může abstrakce zprostředkovat duchovní sdělení a obnovit v moderním umění funkci obrazu jako duchovního symbolu.

This thesis examines the theme of transcendence in 20th-century abstract art from the perspective of theology and aesthetic philosophy. Particular attention is given to parallels between the visual language of abstraction and theological concepts such as order, light, emptiness, and negation. Through interpretation of selected thinkers (e.g. Augustine, Dionysius the Areopagite, Meister Eckhart) and artists (W. Kandinsky, K. Malevich, M. Rothko, V. Boštík), the work shows how abstraction can serve as a medium of spiritual expression and how the function of the image as a spiritual symbol is renewed in modern art.
