Proces rozhodování rodin o umístění člena s demencí do institucionální péče

Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to analyze and describe the decision-making process of family members when placing a relative with dementia into a special care home. The thesis focuses on the key factors influencing this decision, the dilemmas and expectations of the family during this process, and their reflections on the decision after placement. Through three interviews with two specific families, the thesis seeks to provide a deeper insight into the practical, emotional, and social aspects associated with caring for a person with dementia. The first chapter provides a theoretical foundation for the issue of dementia and Alzheimer's disease. It describes the characteristics of these illnesses and their impact on both patients and caregivers. This chapter also includes an analysis of gender aspects in caregiving and the differences between home and institutional care. The second chapter addresses special care homes (SCHs) as a specific form of institutional care for people with dementia. It focuses on the legislative framework of these facilities, their services, and the specifics of the care they provide. Cílem této práce je analyzovat a popsat proces rozhodování rodinných příslušníků při umístění člena s demencí do domova se zvláštním režimem. Práce se zaměřuje na klíčové faktory ovlivňující toto rozhodnutí, na dilemata a očekávání rodiny v průběhu tohoto procesu a na reflexi rozhodnutí po umístění. Prostřednictvím třech rozhovorů dvou konkrétních rodin se práce snaží nabídnout hlubší vhled do praktických, emočních a sociálních aspektů spojených s péčí o osobu s demencí. První kapitola poskytuje teoretický základ problematiky demence a Alzheimerovy choroby. Popisuje charakteristiku těchto onemocnění a jejich dopad na pacienty i pečující osoby. Součástí této kapitoly je také rozbor genderových aspektů pečovatelství a rozdílů mezi domácí a institucionální péčí. Druhá kapitola se věnuje domovům se zvláštním režimem (DZR) jako specifické formě institucionální péče pro osoby s demencí. Zaměřuje se na legislativní rámec těchto zařízení, jejich služby a specifika péče, kterou poskytují. Třetí kapitola se zaměřuje na legislativní rámec a právní aspekty péče o osoby s demencí v České republice. Popisuje klíčové zákony a normy upravující poskytování sociálních služeb, omezení svéprávnosti a ustanovení opatrovnictví.
