| uk.abstract.en | The article deals with the use of phrasemes that refer to, describe or interpret communication in various types of contemporary media texts. Collocations such as “ostrá slova” [harsh words], “ostrá slova padala” [harsh words were uttered], their variants and modifications, and the phraseme “namazat si někoho na chleba” (literally “to spread someone on bread,” approximately “to have someone for breakfast”) were searched in the corpora and subcorpora of the Czech National Corpus, some of these subcorpora being designed to include specific types of online media. Comparison of the relative frequencies of these phrasemes confirmed that their usage varies according to the type of media, with a marked difference between the mainstream on the one hand and online political tabloids and anti-system websites on the other. | cs |
