The aim of the thesis was to analyze the level of nursing staff awareness about ADs, their attitudes, and experiences with their implementation in practice. The theoretical part focuses on the definition and legal framework of ADs in the Czech Republic, ethical aspects of decision-making, and an international comparison of approaches. The empirical part conducted a quantitative analysis using a questionnaire survey among nurses from different departments. The results showed differences in awareness - higher awareness was observed among staff from the gerontometabolic clinic and neurology, while uncertainty was found among staff from surgery and long-term care. Cílem práce bylo analyzovat úroveň informovanosti ošetřovatelského personálu o DVP, jejich postoje a zkušenosti s jeho uplatněním v praxi. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na definici a právní zakotvení DVP v České republice, etické aspekty rozhodování a mezinárodní srovnání přístupů. V empirické části byla provedena kvantitativní analýza pomocí dotazníkového šetření mezi sestrami z různých oddělení. Výsledky ukázaly rozdíly v informovanosti - vyšší povědomí měli pracovníci gerontometabolické kliniky a neurologie, nejistotu naopak pracovníci z chirurgie a následné péče. Práce doporučuje podporu uplatňování DVP a zlepšení mezioborové spolupráce.
