Abstract

Title: Case study of ortho-prosthetic care for a patient diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis and the possibilities of corset therapy Objectives: The aim of this work is to present orthotic treatment with a torso orthosis for a patient with idiopathic scoliosis (IS). It describes the technological process of manufacturing an individual torso orthosis of the Chêneau type and evaluates its therapeutic effect. A search of available sources summarizes comprehensive information on the possibilities of current corset therapy as a choice of conservative therapy for IS among other treatment methods. The theoretical and practical findings can potentially be further applied to equip other patients with IS with an individual torso orthosis. Methods: The bachelor's thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The first part contains comprehensive theoretical knowledge about the given issue and is based on available professional sources. The practical part is prepared in the form of a case report of a 12-year-old patient with a diagnosis of idiopathic scoliosis, in the premises of the Technical Orthopedics Center s.r.o. in České Budějovice in the period from 1.2. to 28.2.2025. Název: Kazuistika orto-protetické péče o pacienta s diagnózou idiopatická skolióza a možnosti korzetoterapie Cíle: Cílem této práce je představit ortotickou léčbu trupovou ortézou pacientky s idiopatickou skoliózou (IS). Formou kazuistiky popisuje technologický postup výroby individuální trupové ortézy typu Chêneau a hodnotí její terapeutický efekt. Shrnuje ucelené informace o možnostech současné korzetoterapie jako o volbě konzervativní terapie IS mezi ostatními léčebnými metodami. Zjištěné teoretické a praktické poznatky mohou být potenciálně dále aplikovány pro vybavení dalších pacientů s IS individuální trupovou ortézou. Metodika: Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. První obsahuje ucelené teoretické poznatky o dané problematice a vychází z dostupných odborných zdrojů. Praktická část je zpracována formou kazuistiky 12leté pacientky s diagnózou idiopatické skoliózy, v prostorách Centra Technické Ortopedie s.r.o. v Českých Budějovicích v období od 1.2. do 28.2.2025. Její součástí bude vstupní vyšetření, návrh a technologický postup výroby individuální trupové ortézy a také zhodnocení výsledného léčebného efektu pro klientku.
