Abstract

Title A case study on physical therapy treatment in patient with peripheral paralysis of the facial nerve. Objectives The main goal of this thesis is a thorough overview on theoretical context concerning facial nerve, its anatomy, physiology and pathology focusing mostly on peripheral lesions of various ethiologies. For the special part there is a goal to present a case report following physical therapy care on a real-life patient diagnosed with idiopathic peripheral lesion of the facial nerve. Methods This thesis is divided into four main parts: theoretical part, special part, discussion and conclusion. Theoretical part presents an overview on the facial nerve - its anatomy, pathlogies, ethiology of peripheral lesions and physical theraphy intervention options. Special part is a case report on a patient with diagnosed Bell's palsy, that has been treated for 4 weeks. This part includes medical history, complex kinesiological assesment before therapy, report from 8 therapeutic sessions, complex kinesiological assesment after therapy, evaluation of therapeutic effect and prognosis. Discussion opens a few questions concerning physical therapy treatment for peripheral palsies as it is nowadays and other topics. Název práce Kazuistika fyzioterapeutické práce o pacienta s diagnózou periferní paréza nervus facialis Cíl práce Cílem této práce je poskytnout ucelený náhled na problematiku periferní léze lícního nervu, včetně anatomických, fyziologických a klinických poznatků a následně představit kazuistiku fyzioterapeutické péče o pacienta s takovou diagnózou. Metodika práce Práce je rozdělená na část teoretickou a část praktickou, po nichž následuje diskuze a závěr. V teoretické části jsou popsány anatomické souvislosti nervus facialis a teoretický přehled o vzniku, diagnostice a léčbě jeho periferní parézy různých etiologií. Ve speciální části je představena kazuistika reálného pacienta, u něhož byla vedena fyzioterapeutická intervence. V diskuzi jsou vzneseny otázky ohledně současné role fyzioterapie u periferní parézy n. facialis i jiných nervů. Závěr nakonec shrnuje zásadní body práce. Výsledky U pacienta byl v rámci terapie pozorován pozitivní účinek intervence. Došlo k výraznému zlepšení funkce mimických svalů, a ačkoliv jeho stav na konci intervence nebyl zcela fyziologický, lze takové zlepšení v blízké době očekávat.
