Nepopravený odsouzený: Vilém starší Popel z Lobkowicz jako příklad nekatolického šlechtice předbělohorského období

Abstract

Cílem této práce je vytvořit kompletní životopis Viléma staršího z Lobkowicz se zaměřením na jeho majetkové poměry, konfesijní život a politickou činnost a na něj samého jako na šlechtice nekatolického vyznání z rodu typicky katolického. Rovněž je na základě jeho osobní korespondence analyzován jeho soud a další osudy po porážce stavovského vojska v bitvě na Bílé hoře. Viléma můžeme vnímat jako šlechtice, který nebýval v popředí dění, přesto výrazně ovlivnil vývoj českých zemí v době předbělohorské. Zajímavá je možnost rekonstruovat jeho vězení, nahlédnout do psychologie jeho osobnosti a vůbec do postavení nepopraveného odsouzeného. Tuto práci doplňuje edice části jeho dosud nevydané korespondence. The main goal of this bachelors diploma thesis is to create the complete biography of Vilém the elder Popel of Lobkowicz with the focus on his property ownership, his religious life and political activities as well as on him as a non-Catholic nobleman born into a traditionally Catholic family. His trial and his further fate after the defeat of the estates army at the Battle of the White Mountain is also analysed on the basis of his personal correspondence. Vilém can be thought of as a nobleman who notably helped shape the evolution of Czech lands during the pre-White Mountain era, despite not being in the forefront of important events. The edition of a part of this correspondence is included in the thesis.
