Počátky amerického fotbalu v České republice

Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to capture the inception and early development of American football in the Czech Republic as perceived by the pioneers who were instrumental in introducing the sport to the country. This work also endeavours to document and preserve interviews with these pioneers, so that this unique source of information may be utilized by future researchers for subsequent studies. The theoretical and methodological framework of this thesis is based on oral history. The oral history method was chosen due to the scarcity of written sources and its scientific approach to working with firsthand accounts. The primary sources are thus oral testimonies obtained through the oral history method, specifically through interviews with the pioneers, complemented by written sources (ego documents and newspaper articles). Cílem této diplomové práce je zachytit počátek a raný rozvoj amerického fotbalu v České republice tak, jak jej nahlíží pamětníci, kteří stáli u jeho zrodu. Tato práce se také zasazuje o zaznamenání a uchování rozhovorů s těmito pamětníky - "pionýry", aby tento unikátní zdroj informací mohl být využit dalšími výzkumníky pro navazující studie. Teoretický a metodologický rámec práce vychází z orální historie. Metoda orální historie byla zvolena z důvodu nedostatku písemných pramenů a pro svoji schopnost vědecké práce s pamětníky. Primárním pramenem jsou tedy ústní svědectví získaná metodou orální historie, respektive prostřednictvím rozhovorů s pamětníky, které jsou doplněny písemnými prameny (ego dokumenty a novinovými články).
