Katalánsky psaná literatura v českém překladu

Abstract

Nepočítáme-li stručnou studii Jana Schejbala a Davida Utrery (2004: 45-57), je tato práce prvním pokusem o ucelené přiblížení česko-katalánských literárních vztahů prizmatem překladu. Práce se zabývá dějinami překladu z katalánsky psané literatury do češtiny, a to od roku 1888 až po současnost, přičemž uceleně a komplexně mapuje vývoj, tendence a charakteristické rysy tohoto procesu, který je nazírán i v širších mimoliterárních souvislostech. Vedle kompletního zmapování příslušné překladové produkce je na základě četných dokladů získaných rozsáhlým archivním výzkumem ukázáno, že dynamika této meziliterární výměny je ponejvíce určována politickou konstelací nejen v cílové, ale i výchozí jazykové oblasti. Práce doplňuje mezeru v dějinách českého překladu a zároveň je příspěvkem k poznání problematiky překladu mezi dvěma středně velkými kulturami, což je v případě národů slovanského a románského jazyka doposud málo probádaná oblast i z hlediska mezinárodní translatologie. If we do not count the brief study by Jan Schejbal and David Utrera (2004: 45-57), this work is the first attempt at a comprehensive approach to Czech-Catalan literary relations through the prism of translation. The thesis deals with the history of translation from Catalan written literature into Czech, from 1888 to the present day, while comprehensively and thoroughly mapping the development, tendencies and characteristic features of this process, which is also seen in wider non- literary contexts. In addition to a complete mapping of the respective translation production, it is shown on the basis of numerous documents obtained through extensive archival research that the dynamics of this inter-literary exchange is mostly determined by the political constellation not only in the target but also in the starting language area. The work fills a gap in the history of Czech translation and at the same time is a contribution to the knowledge of the issue of translation between two medium-sized cultures, which in the case of Slavic and Romance languages is an area that has not been explored so far, even from the point of view of international translation studies.
