Don Juan Tenorio: Zorrillova reinterpretace donjuanovského mýtu

Abstract

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá dílem Don Juan Tenorio od Josého Zorrilly, a to především v souvislosti s vývojem donjuanovského mýtu ve španělské literatuře. Slavný mýtus dona Juana je známý po celém světě a objevuje se už ve starších básních a romancích. Ve španělské literatuře ho poté zpracovává Tirso de Molina a další, v 19. století jej přejímá Zorrilla, vrcholný představitel španělského romantismu. Práce zkoumá, jaká díla Zorrilla znal a kde se pro svého dona Juana inspiroval, přičemž část výzkumu je věnována porovnání Zorrillova Tenoria a Tirsova Sevillského svůdce, jelikož Tirsova hra je prvním donjuanovským dílem. Účelem této studie je také prozkoumat, jak José Zorrilla přistupoval k reinterpretaci postavy v době romantismu, tudíž velká pozornost je věnována představení epochy romantismu ve Španělsku a výzkumu romantických prvků v díle s otázkou, v jakém smyslu je Zorrillův don Juan romantickým hrdinou. Výsledkem je podrobná analýza díla Don Juan Tenorio a pojednání o tom, jak Zorrilla populární postavu dona Juana zpracoval.

This bachelor's thesis deals with the work Don Juan Tenorio by José Zorrilla, primarily in connection with the evolution of the Don Juan myth in Spanish literature. The famous myth of Don Juan is known all around the world and it already appears in older poems and romances. In Spanish literature, it had been elaborated by Tirso de Molina and others; in the 19th century, it was adopted by Zorrilla, the most significant representative of Spanish Romanticism. The thesis studies which works Zorrilla was familiar with and where he was inspired for his Don Juan, where one part of the research is dedicated to comparing Zorrilla's Tenorio with Tirso's The Trickster of Seville since Tirso's play is the first work with the Don Juan theme. The aim of this study is also to examine how José Zorrilla approached the reinterpretation of the character in the Romantic era, and so great attention is dedicated to the presentation of the Romantic period in Spain, and to the research of romantic elements in the work with the question of in what sense Zorrilla's Don Juan is a romantic hero. The result is a detailed analysis of the work Don Juan Tenorio and a treatise on Zorrilla's concept of the popular character of Don Juan.
