Srovnání zahraniční politiky Pavla I. a Kateřiny II. vůči revoluční Francii

Abstract

V bakalářské práci bude analyzována zahraniční politika ruské imperátorky Kateřiny II. a jejího syna Pavla I. vůči Francii po revolučních událostech v roce 1789. Práce se zaměří na rozbor vztahů mezi ruským impériem a revoluční Francii za doby zmíněných panovníků. Pozornost bude věnována nejen diplomatickým jednáním mezi státy, ale i osobnímu přístupu imperátora a imperátorky k dění ve Francii na konci 18. století. Cílem práce je srovnání zahraniční politiky Kateřiny II. a Pavla I. vůči Francii po roce 1789, její zhodnocení, hledání podobných a odlišných rysů a také zodpovězení otázky, zda byl někdo z panovníků úspěšný ve své politice. Bude též analyzována otázka osobního vlivu panovníka na vedení zahraniční politiky. Analýza se bude opírat o studium vydaných pramenů ve formě korespondence a vzpomínek panovníků, vojevůdců, politiků a dalších svědků těchto událostí. Práce naváže na českou, ruskou, a anglosaskou odbornou literaturu. V bakalářské práci budu využívat historickou, komparativní a biografickou metodu bádání, metody výzkumu a analýzy politických dějin a dějin mezinárodních vztahů.

The bachelor's thesis will analyze the foreign policy of the Russian Empress Catherine II and her son Paul I towards France after the revolutionary events of 1789. The focus will be on analyzing the relations between the Russian Empire and revolutionary France during the reigns of these monarchs. Attention will be paid not only to the diplomatic negotiations between the two states but also to the personal approaches of the emperor and the empress to the events in France at the end of the 18th century. The aim of this thesis is to compare the foreign policies of Catherine II and Paul I towards France after 1789, evaluate them, identify similarities and differences, and determine whether either monarch was successful in their policies. Furthermore, the thesis will analyze the personal influence of the monarchs on the conduct of foreign policy. The analysis will be based on the study of published sources, including correspondences and memoirs of monarchs, generals, politicians, and other witnesses of these events. The thesis will draw on Czech, Russian, and Anglo-Saxon scholarly literature. In my bachelor's thesis, I will use historical, comparative, and biographical research methods, as well as methods for studying and analyzing political history and the history of international relations.
