Převod humoru a reálií v českých titulcích k americkému animovanému seriálu BoJack Horseman

Abstract

(česky): Tato diplomová práce mapuje převod humoru a reálií v audiovizuálních textech, podává přehled základních titulkovacích strategií pro převod těchto složek a s využitím odborné literatury navrhuje typologii humoru i kulturně vázaných prvků. Empirická část práce analyzuje vybraný vzorku titulků se zaměřením na postupy zvolené pro převod humoru a reálií. Na základě zjištěných postupů a posunů popisuje celkovou metodu převodu na ose exotizace-kreolizace- naturalizace. K explanaci společenského kontextu originálu i překladu, procesu převodu a recepce tato práce vyjde ze studia textů provázejících vysílání seriálu v kultuře výchozí i cílové, rozhovoru s tvůrcem titulků a provede dotazníkové šetření s cílem zjistit hodnotu překladovosti u současného českého diváka.

(anglicky): This thesis maps the transfer of humour and culture-bound elements in audiovisual texts, provides an overview of basic subtitling strategies for the transfer of these elements, and proposes a typology of humour and culture-bound elements drawing on literature on the subject. The empirical part of the thesis analyses a selected sample of subtitles with a focus on the procedures chosen for the transfer of humour and reality. Based on the procedures and shifts identified, it describes the overall translation method on the axis of or exoticization- creolization-naturalization. To explore the social context of both the original and the translation, the process of translation and reception, this thesis draws on the study of texts accompanying the broadcasting of a series in the source and target culture, as well as on an interview with the subtitler, and presents a survey to determine the attitudes to translationality for contemporary Czech viewers.
