dc.description.abstract	Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na užití slovesa wanna v současné britské mluvené angličtině. Momentálně dva nejvýraznější přístupy k wanna vnímají toto sloveso jako případ gramatikalizace nebo lexikalizace a považují ho za zástupce třídy tzv. "emerging modals", které se funkčně oddělují od tvarů, ze kterých se tato slovesa vyvinula. Teoretická část této práce se zabývá výhodami a nevýhodami zmíněných přístupů a shrnuje výsledky předchozího zkoumání rozdílů mezi wanna a want to. Také prozkoumává pojem "modalita" a konkrétní modální významy, které wanna a want to mohou mít. Praktická část této práce je založena na korpusovém výzkumu; na základě analýzy 400 náhodných vět obsahujících wanna a want to, které pochází z mluvené části Britského národního korpusu z roku 1994 a Britského národního korpusu z roku 2014, se srovnává použití dvou zmíněných sloves. Data jsou zkoumána z pohledu tří proměnných, což jsou modální význam wanna a want to, formální typ souvětí a forma podmětu v cílové větě. Cílem je zjistit, zda existuje statisticky větší pravděpodobnost, že některá z těchto proměnných ovlivňuje rozhodnutí mluvčích při výběru mezi wanna a want to. dc.description.abstract	The BA thesis focuses on the use of the verb wanna in present-day spoken British English. Currently, the two most prominent approaches to the status of wanna assume it to be an instance of either grammaticalisation or lexicalisation and view the verb as a representative of the class of the so- called "emerging modals" - verbs which are functionally diverging from their parent phrases. The theoretical part of this work discusses the merits and failings of the mentioned approaches and summarises the results of the previous findings on the differences between wanna and want to. It also examines the concept of modality together with the specific modal meanings which the verbs are capable of expressing. The practical part of this study is corpus-based; it compares the use of wanna and want to through the analysis of 400 random samples of clauses containing the two verbs extracted from the spoken part of the British National Corpus 1994 and British National Corpus 2014. The data are examined from the point of three chosen variables, namely, the modal meaning of wanna and want to, the formal type of the sentence, and the form of the target clause subject. The aim is to determine whether any of the variables are statistically more probable to influence the speakers' choice between wanna and want to....	en_US
