Homological dimensions and special classes of rings

Abstract

In this thesis, we study commutative noetherian rings using homological methods. We characterize regular local rings as rings with finite global dimension and show that they are stable under localization. After this we go on to generalize this result. We prove a generalization of the classical Auslander-Buchsbaum formula and an analogous characterization for Gorenstein rings. 1

V této práci studujeme komutativní noetherovské okruhy pomocí homologických metod. Regulární lokální okruhy charakterizujeme jako okruhy s konečnou globální dimenzí a následovně ukazujeme, že jsou stabilní při lokalizaci. Poté přejdeme ke zobecnění to- hoto výsledku a dokážeme zobecnění klasického Auslanderova-Buchsbaumova vzorce a obdobnou charakterizaci pro Gorensteinovy okruhy. 1
