Abstract

1 Abstract This study focuses on exploring the experiences of nurses in relation to the dying and deceased patients, particularly examining how their personal spirituality influences these experiences. The theoretical part elucidates concepts such as dying, death, and spirituality. It also delves into palliative care, its principles, and history, as well as discussing the nursing profession. The psychological aspects associated with the dying and death of patients are also addressed in this section. The final part of the theoretical section focuses on selected research studies related to the topic. The aim of the empirical part is to analyze the experiences and attitudes that nurses adopt in caring for the dying and deceased bodies. Another objective is to examine how nurses cope with the dying and death of patients and how their personal spirituality influences this process. The main method used in this work is the interpretative phenomenological method, and data collection is conducted through semi-structured interviews. A questionnaire survey is also employed for a broader perspective. The results provide insights into various perspectives of nurses on dying and death in relation to their personal spirituality. Tato prace se zameruje na zkoumaní prozívaní umíraní a smrtí pacientu/klientu u zdravotních sester ve vztahu k jejich osobní spiritualite V teoreticke casti se vysvetlují pojmy jako je umíraní, smrt, spiritualita. Take se zde rozebíra paliativní pece, její principy a historie. Dale se zde pojednava o povolaní zdravotní sestry. V praci je venovana cast psychologickym aspektum spojenym s umíraním a smrtí pacientu/klientu. Poslední cast teoreticke casti je zamerena vybrane vyzkumy venující se tematu. Cílem empiricke casti je analyzovat zkusenosti a postoje, ktere sestry zaujímají pri peci o umírající a mrtve telo. Dalsím cílem je zkoumat to, jakym zpusobem se sestry vyrovnavají s umíraním a smrtí pacientu/klientu a jakym zpusobem je v tomto ovlivnuje jejich osobní spiritualita. V praci je jako hlavní metoda vyuzita interpretativní fenomenologicka metoda. Pro sber dat je vyuzit polostrukturovany rozhovor. Pro sirsí pohled je vyuzito dotazníkove setrení. Vysledky poskytují pohled na ruzne pohledy zdravotních sester na umíraní a smrt ve vztahu k jejich osobní spiritualite. Vyzkum ukazal, ze prozívaní smrti a umíraní pacientu/klientu je ovlivneno nekolika faktory, kdy dominantním faktorem je vek umírajícího.
