Sociální percepce oboru sociální práce ze strany studentů Univerzity Karlovy

Abstract

This master's thesis focuses on the study of social perception of the field of social work among students of Charles University who do not study this field. The thesis is structured into two main parts: theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part is devoted to defining and describing basic concepts. The empirical part contains a description of the used methodology - qualitative research and analysis of data obtained by a questionnaire survey. The main objective of the thesis was to find out how students of Charles University, who do not study social work, perceive this field in their social context. Another objective was to identify possible differences in the perception of this field between students of humanities and natural sciences disciplines. The research within this thesis has demonstrated that students of Charles University predominantly perceive the field of social work as highly beneficial to society. However, they also perceive it as strongly non-prestigious mainly due to its low financial remuneration and its demanding nature in terms of psychological aspects. A significant difference in the perception of this field between students of humanities and natural sciences disciplines was not proven.

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na studium sociálního vnímání oboru sociální práce mezi studenty Univerzity Karlovy, kteří tento obor nestudují. Práce je strukturována do dvou hlavních částí: teoretické a empirické. Teoretická část se věnuje definování a deskripci základních konceptů. Empirická část obsahuje popis použité metodologie - kvalitativní výzkum a analýzu dat získaných z dotazníkového šetření. Hlavním cílem této práce bylo zjistit, jak studenti Univerzity Karlovy, kteří nestudují sociální práci, percipují tento obor ve svém sociálním kontextu. Dalším cílem bylo identifikovat možné rozdíly ve vnímání tohoto oboru mezi studenty humanitních a přírodovědných disciplín. Výzkum v rámci této práce prokázal, že studenti Univerzity Karlovy většinově vnímají obor sociální práce jako společensky vysoce přínosný. Zároveň ho ale vnímají jako silně neprestižní především z důvodu nízkého finančního ohodnocení a jeho náročnosti po psychické stránce. Výrazný rozdíl ve vnímání tohoto oboru mezi studenty humanitních a přírodovědných disciplín nebyl prokázán.
