Jana Jelínková Title: The role of occupational therapy in the care system for people with dementia in the Czech Republic Abstract of the diploma thesis: The topic of the thesis is the role of occupational therapy in the care system for people with dementia in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to identify and map the role of occupational therapists in the care system for people with dementia in the Czech Republic. Another aim is to create a detailed and comprehensive depiction and evaluation of the role that occupational therapists play in the care of people with dementia, focusing on their significance within multidisciplinary teams. The final aim is to determine how to adapt the care system for people with dementia in the Czech Republic, given that the number of people with dementia continues to rise. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part describes ageing, including the demographics of ageing in the Czech Republic, Europe, and worldwide. Jana Jelínková Název diplomové práce: Úloha ergoterapie v systému péče o osoby s demencí v České republice Abstrakt diplomové práce: Tématem diplomové práce je úloha ergoterapie v systému péče o osoby s demencí v České republice. Cílem práce je zjistit a zmapovat roli ergoterapeutů v systému péče o osoby s demencí v České republice. Dalším cílem je vytvořit podrobné a komplexní zobrazení a zhodnocení role, kterou ergoterapeuti mají v péči o osoby s demencí, se zaměřením na jejich význam v rámci multidisciplinárního týmu. A posledním cílem je zjistit, jak přizpůsobit systém péče o osoby s demencí v České republice vzhledem k tomu, že počet osob s demencí stále roste. Diplomová práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část popisuje stárnutí, včetně demografie stárnutí v České republice, Evropě a ve světě. Dále práce představuje demenci, diagnostiku demence, příznaky, typy, stádia onemocnění, léčbu a dopad onemocnění na běžné denní činnosti a participaci.
