Přínos Kamila Uhlíře k české recepci jihoamerické literatury

Abstract

The subject of this diploma thesis is Kamil Uhlíř (1923-1983), a translator and one of the founders of Czech Hispanic Studies, who focused professionally mainly on the literature of the Lapland region (Argentina, Uruguay, etc.). The next chapter deals with Kamil Uhlíř's translation and literary areas of interest. The central part of the thesis is dedicated to the translation analysis of the two selected translations by Uhlíř. The first is the short story Alef by Borges in comparison with the original but also taking into account the modifications in the next Czech edition. The subsequent text is The Pursuer by Cortázar, which is compared with Uhlíř's translation and Jan Machej's new translation.

Předmětem této diplomové práce je osoba Kamila Uhlíře (1923-1983), překladatele a jednoho ze zakladatelů české hispanistiky, jenž se profesně zaměřil zejména na literaturu laplatské oblasti (Argentinu, Uruguay etc.). Další kapitola pojednává o překladatelských a literárních oblastech zájmu Kamila Uhlíře. Centrální část diplomové práce se věnuje translatologické analýze dvou vybraných překladů Uhlíře. Prvním je Borgesova povídka Alef ve srovnání s originálem, ale i s přihlédnutím k úpravám v dalším českém vydání. Navazujícím textem, je Cortázarův Pronásledovatel, kde porovnáváme Uhlířův překlad s novým překladem Jana Macheje.
