Abstract

Diplomová práce na téma Analýza základních aspektů místa a úlohy duchovní péče ozbrojených sil České republiky a Spojených států amerických se zaměřuje, jak i název vypovídá, na srovnání armádní duchovní péče dvou armád, konkrétně Armády České republiky a Armády Spojených států amerických. Těžištěm práce je podrobné zmapování základních aspektů duchovních služeb obou armád, konkrétně například požadavky na kandidáta na kaplana, rozlišením kaplana od ostatního vojska či náplň jejich práce. Důraz je kladen také na historii duchovní služby, v práci je tedy provedena důkladná analýza dějinných souvislostí. Na závěr je pak uskutečněno srovnání hlavních aspektů, které je pro lepší přehlednost umístěno do tabulky. Na základě zjištěných informací můžeme identifikovat některé společné znaky Duchovní služby Armády České republiky a Kaplanského sboru Armády Spojených států amerických. Jedná se například o poměr počtu kaplanů na celkový počet vojáků či velmi podobný rozsah úkolů. Liší se pak třeba v rozmanitosti náboženských vyznání, kde kaplani v americké armádě jsou mimo křesťanů také muslimové, židé či buddhisté.

This diploma thesis on the topic Analysis of the Basic Aspects of the Location and Spiritual Care of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic and the United States of America, focuses, as the name suggests, on the comparison of the military spiritual care of two armies, specifically the Army of the Czech Republic and the Army of the United States of America. The focus of the work is a detailed mapping of the basic aspects of the spiritual services of both armies, especially, for example, the requirements for a chaplain candidate, the chaplain's distinction from other armies or the content of their work. Emphasis is also placed on the history of spiritual services, so the work provides a thorough analysis of historical contexts. Finally, a comparison of the main aspects is made. It is placed in a table for better clarity. Based on the information found, we can identify some common features of the Chaplaincy Service of the Army of the Czech Republic and the Chaplain Corps of the United States Army. This is, for example, the ratio of the number of chaplains to the total number of soldiers or a very similar range of tasks. They differ, for example, in the diversity of religious denominations, where chaplains in the American army are not only Christians, but also Muslims, Jews or Buddhists.
